Camellias

Holland has its tulips.
Pasadena, CA has its Rose Parade,
but for 86 years Sacramento, CA has had its
Annual Camellia Festival.

During the month of the festival es the only time when Sacramento is referred to
as the City of Camellias instead of the City of Trees (which is how it has stood out because of so many trees.)

This Festival of Camillias is the biggest in the nation
and horticulturally the most historic in the state.

*This time all of the pictures were gifts from Behind_Green_Eyes.
*These camellias are all along our front porch - I float them in shallow dishes in the house. They are so bright and cheerful.
*Tomorrow youngest son leaves for his first speech tournament without me. I should stop blogging! and iron his suit, help him finish packing his suitcase and go over his scripts one more time. Best wishes, Mark! Go Auburn (our Speech & Debate Club)!
