Theater of the Mind

An Interpretative Speech can only last 10 minutes, but in that time the performance must include a conflict, climax and resolution. It must have literary value. It must instruct and/or entertain. The characters in the performance have to come to life and be believable in voice and action. In short, and interpretative brings life to literature - it's Theater of the Mind."
Un Discurso Interpretativo solo se puede durar 10 minutos, pero en ese tiempo la actuación tiene que incluir un conflicto, clímax o crisis, y resolución. Tiene que mostrar valor literario. Tiene que instruir y/o entretener. Los personajes en la actuación tienen que transformarse en personas reales y ser creíbles en voz y acción. En fin, un discurso interpretativo trae vida a la literatura- es Teatro de la Mente.

This is Duo Interpretative Speech. The actors may not ever look or touch one another, and yet they must impart a convincing message. My youngest son leaves this week to San Diego with his friends for m the Auburn Club of the STOA League to compete for four days there. It will be the first time he competes without me. He's really young to remember things like how and when to get registered, where to go to eat during the long hours and even that he should brush his teeth and hair every day. But, I'm glad he has this opportunity! He has this speech, one called Las Tres Javelinas, an adaption of the Three Little Pigs and an expository speech using boards to talk about the possible coexistence
Este Discurso Interpretativo es un Duo. Los actores no se pueden miran ni tocarse, y sin embargo tienen que realizar un mensaje convincente. Este hijo menor sale esta semana a San Diego con sus companeros del Club Auburn de la Liga STOA a competir durante cuatro días. Será la primera vez que compete sin que vaya yo. Es muy joven para acordarse de las cosas como cuando y como registrarse, donde ir a comer durante las largas horas y hasta acordarse de lavarse la boca. Pero estoy feliz que tenga esta oportunidad! El tiene esta presentación, uno que hace solo que se llama Las Tres Javelinas, una adapcion de The Three Little Pigs, y un discurso en el que usa las cartulinas para hablar de la posible coexistencia de los dinosaurios y el hombre (según el, en esa época humana se llamaban dragones).

Patience is required on the coaches part since every movement, every word must be purposeful. Line by line, action by action. What kind of crazy people do this "for fun?" Mothers like these who want these young people to learn to communicate well with the public and who want their kids to develop their creativity.
Se requiere mucha paciencia de las entrenadoras ya que cada movimiento y cada palabra tiene que ser decidido. Linea por linea, acción por acción. Que tipo de gente loca hace esto para "entretenerse?" Madres como estas que quieren que estos jóvenes aprendan a comunicarse bien con el publico, que quieren que ellos desarrollen su creatividad. Ha sido muy divertido.

Las Entrenadoras sonriendose porque han trabajado bien los chicos y tambien porque Janelle trajo una sopa deliciosa de vegetales que comimos con galletas y queso de Jarlsburg y Gouda. Mmm. . .
The Coaches are smiling because the kids have worked hard and also because sweet Janelle brought a delicious vegetable soup that we ate with crackers and Jarlsburg and Gouda cheese. Mmm. . .

Este discurso es un Interpretativo Humorístico de las cosas que pasa abordo un avión. Ves, por supuesto, que esa mano de JJ es un avión que esta a punto de hacer un aterrizaje violento forzoso-no oyes los ruidos ridículos que hace?This speech is a Humorous Interpretative about the things that happen on board a plane.
