The best has been that I've gotten to talk to all of my kids, and almost every day! I live for our talks! Sara said, when we were in Sacramento over the summer, that she likes our skype dates more than talking in person at home. I was a little surprised by this, but then realized that more often than not, being at home together entailed chores and obligations of some sort. The house and busy life we led needed taking care of, and we had a harder time setting aside time just for ourselves. The demands of full-time work and taking care of a big home didn’t allow for much else. Now there is more time and now we purpose to talk. The same is true with for the others. Still, I really miss my kids. Every day. I want to hug them, catch them in between their activities and share something with them; a comment about a classmate, a grade on a paper, something they’ve read. . . This mode of internet communication isn’t perfect, but it’s possible, it's sweet and I’m so thankful for it!

Lo mejor ha sido que he podido hablar con todos mis hijos, y ¡casi todos los días! ¡Vivo por nuestras charlas! Decía Sara, cuando estábamos en Sacramento durante el verano, que le gustan nuestras citas en skype más que hablar en persona en casa. Estuve un poco sorprendida con esto, pero me di cuenta que muchas veces, estar en casa juntas conllevaba muchos quehaceres y responsabilidades de un tipo u otro. La casa y nuestras vidas tan ocupadas requerían mucho de nosotras y nos costaba más reservar un tiempo para otra cosa. Ahora tengo más tiempo y nos programamos a propósito tiempo para hablar. Lo mismo es cierto para los otros. Sin embargo extraño mucho a mis hijos. Todos los días. Quiero darles un abrazo, encontrarles entre sus actividades y compartir algo con ellos; un comentario acerca de un compañero de clase, una nota en su tarea, algo que han leído... Este modo de comunicación no es perfecto, pero lo hace posible, es dulce y estoy realmente agradecida!
