Sunday in Rabanal del Camino.

Faith is the bird that feels the light and sings when the dawn is still dark.
Rabindranath Tagore
A single crimson hollyhock greets us at this door.

We began with a strong coffee that we sipped until parish bells called us to mass.

Mass in Rabanal del Camino, sung entirely in Gregorian chant, made me feel as if in another era. In reality these masses have never stopped being sung this way by Benedictine monks.

Currently in the process of restoration.
I slipped to the back to silently click a photo in the parish, a 12th century Romanic style church, that has been declared a Site of Cultural Interest.
And afterwards we enjoyed our autumnal walk around Rabanal del Camino, camera in hand to share with you.
Last time we were out we still could eat and pick berries on the vine.
Friends walking back home after church.
Enrique and me, too. Well, in a few years.
Enrique y yo, también. Bueno, dentro de unos años.
A hunter with his catch of partridges at the waist.

A girl with her Harris Hawk, both out for some fresh air and exercise.

Neighbors having a chat.
Vecinas charlando.
Stone doorway
Portal empedrado
Quaint corners.
Rincones pintorescos.
Rabanal del Camino; a day of spectacular color and charm.
