Cats & Dogs

This cat is very particular. He knows everyone who should and shouldn't be in his house. And, yes, he considers this his house even though he is the newest member of the family. He goes to the front door to greet or show his disapproval of all who enter.
When my friend Michele came last week with her children she also brought their dog, Fritz, an elderly labrador retriever. That was NOT ok with Andres, the cat. He hissed, arched his back and made loud warning growls throughout most of Fritz's visit.
This is Olive, whom recently Sara and I have nicknamed"the sausage" for obvious reasons. Andres wasn't overly friendly with Olive for most of his young life. He has always kept a wary distance, or so I thought, until I discovered something today . . . Andres has changed his affections toward Olive.
. . . Andrés ha cambiado sus afectos hacia Olive.

He sits by Olive, sometimes even purrs. Incredible! Today I was most shocked to find that Andres had come in from outdoors, slipped into the schoolroom/office and made himself quite comfortable upon Olive's cushion where she sleeps at night and often during the day in her elderly years. Andres has made Olive's bed his bed, too!
