Enrique snaps a shot of this wild tom at the Effie Yeaw nature center while on vacation in Sacramento. He runs off, so glad to be free and not at Butterball Farms where his relatives all end up on Thanksgiving tables.

Enrique captura este pavo salvaje en la reserva natural de Effie Yeaw durante las vacaciones en Sacramento. Sale corriendo, muy feliz de no figurar entre los de Butterball Farms donde todos sus parientes terminarán en los banquetes del Día de Acción de Gracias.

Back in California, Sara loads up the back of her jeep with all the pumpkins she can.   Her mom can't help thinking what delicious soups and pies they would make if Sara would just drive them over to Spain.

Otra vez en California, Sara carga su jeep con todas las calabazas que puede. Su madre no puede dejar de pensar en las sopas y tartas que podría hacer con ellas si solo Sara se las trajese a España.

Some 2,000 participated in this cycling event riding 12 miles through towns and fields as part of an anti-drug campaign. Wonder who that blonde is wearing grey and pink in front of the cyclist in yellow? She confides that she is worried she might run into another cyclist, fall off her bike or not make it to the end, but none of these things happen fortunately!
Unos 2.ooo participaron en esta marcha cicloturista montados 12 millas por los pueblos y campos como parte de una campaña anti-droga.  ¿Te preguntas quien es esa rubia en gris y rosa delante del ciclista en amarillo? Comenta que está nerviosa por si le pilla a alguien, se cae de su bici o no llega hasta el final, pero no pasa ninguna de esas cosas, afortunadamente!

A rum and chocolate cake from the Flor and Nata bakery mysteriously appears on the table and then Mary opens the door and is surprised a floral delivery with this love note on her birthday.  It's a lovely day filled with friends.
Una tarta de ron y chocolate de la pastelería Flor y Nata misteriosamente aparece en la mesa y entonces Mary abre la puerta a una entrega de la floristería con esta nota de amor para su cumpleaños. Es un día muy hermoso lleno de amigos.

Still, some days feel incredibly sad and empty without the children and loved ones far away. 
Sin embargo algunos días parecen muy tristes y vacías con los hijos y seres queridos tan lejos.

Thanksgiving lesson. . . Working long hours during the week at home and at the high school in the small mining town of Villablino. It takes 3 hrs. round trip to get there and back, but I'm so thankful for this new opportunity and love the students and everyone I've met. This has been a very special year.
Lección del Día de Acción de Gracias. . . trabajando muchas horas durante la semana en casa y en el instituto en el pequeño pueblo minero Villablino. Son 3 horas ida y vuelta, pero doy las gracias por esta nueva oportunidad y quiero a los estudiantes y compañeros en el trabajo con quien enseño. 
Este ha sido un año muy especial.
