Día de San Valentín

Mi Amor,
The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.

Don't go back to sleep.
You must ask for what you really want.

Don't go back to sleep.
People are going back and forth across the doorsill
 where the two worlds touch.

The door is round and open.
 Don't go back to sleep.

Rose petals on our bed left by a dear friend, Laura, welcoming us home to Astorga, Spain.

I would love to kiss you.

The price of kissing is your life.

Now my loving is running toward my life shouting,

What a bargain, let's buy it.

Daylight, full of small dancing particles
and the one great turning, our souls
are dancing with you, without feet, they dance.

Can you see them when I whisper in your ear?

Excerpts from, The Essential Rumi, Spring Giddiness.
And more wonderful poems to be found in Chocolove, discovered with Risa in La Jolla, California with our favorite so far being Orange Peel in Dark Chocolate. . . mmmm, just like love.

Tied to chocolate's natural counterpart, love, each bar resembles a love letter, complete with a romantic poem.

Our table in our first home, the flat at the center of town, Astorga, Spain.

  1. Soy afortunado porque me amas y más aún porque te amo. Gracias, Señor, por esta bendición.

    Feliz día de San Valentín
