Futbol Americano/Football

Football this season has taken on a whole new meaning since my oldest son is playing for a local high school team. He skipped numerous summer adventures to work out in the gym and practice "moves" on the field, all part of a player's athletic conditioning. Besides the physical conditioning taking place , I'm observing fitness in other areas of his life such as patience, self-control and courtesy off the field.

There is a comraderie with a team like this that this son has been yearning for years. He loves the pack, the yells -"Eagles!"- in unison in response to the coach's calls. He's serious and dedicated.

El Camino High School Cheerleaders shout out encouragement during the last scrimmage.

The last day of real field time. He was injured last week when two players fell on his foot/ankle during a tackle. He spent the evening last Wed. in ER and now is in a cast for the next six weeks or more. This is NOT happy news for a boy so eager to play!

  2. There are many reasons to why things happen in life. If we are able to see things positively, we will be able to see blessings that are hidden beyond what we cannot see.

Wishing him a happy and safe recovery.
