Huntington Beach

Eager for another day at the beach, my favorite eight
wait with bikes, boogie boards, fins and towels.

Tengo Ocho Hijos/I Have Eight Kids

I wonder if at some moment I was ever curious about what it would be like if I had a large family, because this summer, without any program, without extensive planning, I suddenly have a full house. Besides my own four, I have Andres and Felix from the Canary Islands, Spain, Blanca from Toledo, Spain (the three at the left) and also Ruben (between Sara and Ryan) from Belgium. Ruben is the youngest son of Walter, my foreign exchange brother when we were 17 years old! Andres is the son of my friend, Miguel, from a couple of years later when I lived in Gran Canaria. The other two have their stories I won't tell here. The beautiful thing is that after so many years we continue this circle of friendship and family.

Exploration

Sea Ranch, Northern California Coast, July 2009
What could be under these gnarled trees and into the enclosure they form?
